Messages and streams

Distinguish request-response, notifications, and ongoing frame streams.

master · 1.0.0-SNAPSHOT / Reviewed 2026-10-29

Requests and notifications

HelloWorldAction demonstrates returning a Result for a request and sending a Notification through session.channel().send(Notification.builder()...). A notification can be initiated without a client request.

Frame streams

The stream and chat examples accept FrameStream, transform binary data into strings through encoders and decoders, and register handlers including onReceived, onError, and onClosed. They illustrate the lifecycle of an ongoing interaction channel.

Manage the lifecycle

Handle closure, write failures, and business resource cleanup in real applications. Sleep loops in the example demonstrate message sending; they are not a complete production scheduling strategy.
